Now sad as it may seem someone is betting on Kate becoming pregnant soon and has commissioned a doll showing the Duchess of Cambridge in doll form with a Royal Bump. At first I thought this a little bit sad and sick but I suppose as such an icon today it was bound to happen sooner or later - making a commercial killing out of her as opposed to her getting pregnant!
I found the source of this story here http://wakeywakeynews.com/162423/pregnant-kate-middleton-doll-in-high-demand but on further research the website for Arklu does not mention this latest edition to their range.
They do have a Collector’s Edition Princess Catherine Wedding Doll as well as Collector’s Edition Royal Wedding Dolls and also a Princess Catherine Doll Engagement Doll none of which in my humble opinion look much like the Royal Couple in any shape or form. I can only shudder to think what the pregnant doll could look like.
Now my disquiet must be tempered with the knowledge they cannot be all bad. Their website does promise "For every unit sold, Arklu will donate £1 to the RNLI, to reflect the fact that the Royal Couple’s first joint official public engagement was to launch a lifeboat at the RNLI base at Trearddur Bay, in Anglesey, North Wales"
So some good can come from the edition of an expectant Kate Middleton Doll after all!
